Everything has to end

One of the last days in France we spent in Vendôme just walking around. Vendôme is a small but really beautiful city and even if we have spent a lot of time there I still find things as beautiful as the first time I saw them. In the evening we were supposed to go horse riding in the forest outside the city but we cancelled it because I recieved really bad news from Sweden which also ruined the rest of our vacation. That is also the reason why I haven't made a new post in such a long time.

Nous avons passé notre dernière journée à Vendôme à nous balader dans les rues de la ville. Vendôme est une petite mais très jolie cité et même si j'y ai séjourné pendant pas mal de temps je la trouve toujours aussi magnifique que le jour où je l'ai découverte. Ce soir-là, nous devions aller faire une promenade à cheval dans la forêt située en dehors de la ville mais nous avons dû y renoncer du fait d'une très mauvaise nouvelle reçue de Suède. Cette dernière a d'ailleurs ruiné le reste de nos vacances.

The wedding day!

Saturday was the big day for all of us as J-B's brother Mathias and his lovely Amélie got married. The wedding was in the mountains and it all took part in the major office in a small town called Santa Maria Siche. After the wedding we went to Amélie's parents to celebrate with champagne and a lot of pastries. The dinner took place in a restaurant where we ate a five course meal and danced until the break of dawn.

Samedi, c'était le grand jour que tout le monde attendait. Mathias, le frère de J-B, et la très gentille Amélie se sont enfin mariés! Le mariage s'est déroulé dans les montagnes et pour la plus grande partie, à la mairie de Santa Maria Siche. Après cela, nous nous sommes rendus chez les parents d'Amélie pour célébrer cette union à l'aide de champagne et de petits-fours. Le diner a quant à lui été organisé dans un restaurant loué pour l'occasion, dans lequel nous avons mangé à n'en plus finir et dansé jusqu'à l'aube.

Boat trip to the "bloody islands"

On friday evening we went on a boat trip to les îles sanguinaires (bloody islands). One of the legends says that people with lepra were isolated on the islands not to spread the disease. In corsican language they used to call those people "sangui negre" which means the black bloods. The french people understood from that italian word "sanguinaire" (bloody) and kept this name for the islands.

It was a cool evening with nice views and we could also try corsican wine and local specialities. After the boat trip me and my darling had a little photo shoot on the beach. High heels and sand is not the best combination but we managed to get some nice photos and I had a lot of fun! :)

Vendredi soir, nous avons fait une croisière vers les îles sanguinaires. Une des légendes explique leur nom du fait que des lépreux y étaient isolés afin d'éviter que la maladie ne se propage. En Corse, ces personnes étaient appelées des "sangui negre" ce qui signifie sang noirs. L'Italien n'étant pas leur fort, les Français ont compris sanguinaires et ont gardé ce nom.

Cette soirée fut vraiment agréable, avec de très jolis paysages et la possibilité de déguster vins et spécialités culinaires de la région. Après la croisière, mon chéri et moi avons fait une petite séance photo sur la plage. Les hauts talons et le sable ne sont pas la meilleure combinaison, mais nous avons malgré tout réussi à obtenir de très belles photos et je me suis vraiment bien amusée.
