Chihuahua cravings!

Last evening in France we spent with Jean-Baptiste and Cédric's friend Fréderic and his girlfriend that lives just outside Vendôme in a house. They invited us for dinner and to play mini pool. We ate a traditional french raclette dish. This one was with potatoes, different pieces of ham and then the raclette cheese that is melted and put on top of everything. It's really good but at the same time very heavy and you definitely can't eat as much as you would like. Anyway, that was probably good for their little Chihuahua puppy, or else I think I would have eaten her too! She was seriously the cutest little puppy I've ever seen. So small and so adorable and I just wanted to take her with me and keep her forever :)

Pour notre dernière soirée en France, nous sommes allés chez Frédéric et sa compagne, des amis de Jean-Baptiste et Cédric, qui vivent à la sortie de Vendôme, dans une charmante maison, pour partager un bon repas et faire quelques parties de (mini) billard. Nous avons eu le droit à une spécialité francaise, qu'ils appellent "raclette". C'est un plat relativement consistant mais délicieux. Une bonne nouvelle pour leur petit Chihuahua que nous aurions certainement été amenés à dévorer si nous avions eu encore faim ! Ce dernier est sans doute le plus mignon des chiots que j'ai jamais vu, quand j'y pense. Tellement minuscule et adorable que j'aurais voulu l'adopter et le garder pour toujours :)

 

A walk around Vendôme and a sneak peak of our new appartment!

We're back in Sweden since one week and I think it's about time to show you our new appartment. We don't have any pictures from the inside because someone was still living there when we checked it out but we have taken some pictures from the outside to give you a little hint of what it may look like (and of course some ego pictures of me haha!) The appartment is surrounded by stores and the only neighbour we have is the owner of the appartment that lives above the appartment. She seems to be really nice and cool so I'm sure it won't be a problem. The appartment is not very big, two rooms and 47 square metres, but it's really different as it has been used as an office before. The best thing is that it has no stairs for Kingston to climb and we have a park for dogs just around the corner. I can't even tell you how excited I am to go to France and start to decorate our new home! I'm so in love with the little city, everything is so beautiful and calm and I'm sure we will really enjoy our time there.

Nous sommes de retour en Suède depuis maintenant une semaine et je pense qu'il est maintenant temps de vous montrer notre nouvel appartement. Nous n'avons pas de photos de l'intérieur étant donné que les lieux étaient encore occupés lorsque nous avons fait la visite, mais vous verrez au moins l'extérieur (et quelques photos de moi, on ne se refait pas haha!). L'appartement est entouré de magasins et notre seule voisine est notre propriétaire qui vit au dessus de nous. Elle a vraiment l'air très sympa donc cela ne devrait pas poser de problème. L'appartement n'est pas très grand, seulement deux pièces et 47 mètres carrés et très original étant donné que c'est un ancien cabinet d'assurances. Il n'y a pas d'escaliers ce qui est très bien pour Kingston et il y a un parc au coin de la rue. Je suis vraiment très excitée à l'idée de démenager et de commencer à décrorer notre nouveau foyer! Je suis tombée amoureuse de cette petite ville, tout y est si beau et calme... Je suis certaine que nous allons apprécier notre nouvelle vie.

An evening in La Ville aux Clercs

Last thursday Jean-Baptiste's stepmother Juliette invited us for a dinner at her house in a small village called La Ville aux Clercs. As usual it was a lot of nice food and wine and it was nice to see her again after almost one year. We talked about everything and nothing and enjoyed the company of her seven cats :)

Jeudi dernier, Juliette, la belle-mère de Jean-Baptiste nous a invité pour diner chez elle, dans un petit village appelé La Ville aux Clercs. Comme d'habitude la nourriture était abondante et délicieuse, tout comme le vin d'ailleurs. C'était vraiment agréable de la revoir après près d'un an. Nous avons parlé de tout et de rien et avons simplement apprécié la compagnie de ses 7 chats. 

The future as we know it

So what is really going on in my life right now? Well, we're moving out from our apartment on saturday, my parents are coming to help us and then we'll stay in their house until the 10th of march when we'll go to France to try to find an apartment in the beautiful city Vendôme. I have finished my job and my french studies and now it's time to go to France and really learn the language and at the same time enjoy the new country. I'm so excited to move and start a new life over there. I really want to thank my boyfriend for making all of this possible and for working hard everyday to be able to support the both of us until I've found a job. He's so generous and nice, simply the best boyfriend I could have.

Other than that we have been interviewed by a newspaper here in Sweden about our relationship and our move to another country and it will be out in stores on Friday, it will be really cool to see ourselves in the newspaper and we want to thank VK for the opportunity.

Quoi de neuf dans ma vie? Et bien nous allons déménager ce samedi. Mes parents devraient venir nous donner un coup de main et nous accueillir ensuite chez eux jusqu'à notre départ en France le 10 mars. Ce sera alors le moment de chercher un appartement dans la magnifique ville de Vendôme. J'ai démissioné, terminé mes cours de Français et le temps d'entrer en contact avec une nouvelle culture et de m'épanouir dans un autre pays est venu. Je suis tellement excitée de commencer une nouvelle vie là-bas. J'aimerais sincérement remercier mon copain qui fait tout pour faire de ce projet une réalité et qui travaille d'arrache-pied tous les jours pour subvenir à nos besoins jusqu'à ce que je puisse retrouver un travail. Il est tellement généreux et adorable, tout simplement le meilleur partenaire dont je puisse rêver.

En outre, nous avons été interviewés par une journaliste à propos de notre relation et de notre volonté de changer de pays. L'article sortira vendredi dans toutes les librairies de la région. Nous voir dans un journal devrait être amusant et nous remercions VK pour cette opportunité.

Everything has to end

One of the last days in France we spent in Vendôme just walking around. Vendôme is a small but really beautiful city and even if we have spent a lot of time there I still find things as beautiful as the first time I saw them. In the evening we were supposed to go horse riding in the forest outside the city but we cancelled it because I recieved really bad news from Sweden which also ruined the rest of our vacation. That is also the reason why I haven't made a new post in such a long time.

Nous avons passé notre dernière journée à Vendôme à nous balader dans les rues de la ville. Vendôme est une petite mais très jolie cité et même si j'y ai séjourné pendant pas mal de temps je la trouve toujours aussi magnifique que le jour où je l'ai découverte. Ce soir-là, nous devions aller faire une promenade à cheval dans la forêt située en dehors de la ville mais nous avons dû y renoncer du fait d'une très mauvaise nouvelle reçue de Suède. Cette dernière a d'ailleurs ruiné le reste de nos vacances.
